Welcome to Wagner! September 21, 2007
Talk about hospitality! Dana Sanderson, Wagner School Guidance
Counselor, and Tony Krcil, President of the local VFW, really rolled out
the red carpet for four of the SDPB staff as we came into Wagner to
offer the Homefront South Dakota preview film screening event at the
Legion Hall on September 21.
A group of 95 individuals attended and they
included high school students, veterans, and families of veterans. The
evening's event was promoted through the local paper as well as flyers
that were distributed throughout the community and school. Eight
veterans were interviewed for story collection and the photos and
memorabilia that they shared and displayed were priceless.
The community of Wagner should really be proud of the focus they put on
patriotism and the way their young people are encouraged to honor the
local veterans every year. It gives credit to the idea that you don't
know where you're going until you know where you've been. Thanks to Dana and Tony for memorable evening for all of us!
