Visit
to the Past at the W.H. Over Museum in Vermillion--- September 12, 2007
SDPB staff had the privilege to take a step back in time at the W.H.
Over Museum on September 12th. Our invitation came from Friends of the
Museum President Maxine Johnson and the hospitality was great! The
Homefront South Dakota preview film screening event was promoted in the
local newspaper, organization newsletters as well as on table tents at
the Vermillion Senior Center. The event was attended by 42 community
people who shared personal stories of their own following the screening.
The museum was the perfect place to hold the event as it validated the
importance of our history and the richness of stories that need to be
shared. Thanks to the Friends of the W.H. Over Museum for being such
gracious hosts. Thanks also to the veterans and their families for their
service and for sharing their stories with us. |
