Delmer J. Dooley pictured with fellow crewmember during a reunion in
1998.

Delmer J. Dooley was a turret gunner during WWII. This piece of flak,
which
is anti-aircraft artillery, missed Mr. Dooley's left ear by inches and
was imbedded
in and later removed from the turret. Mr. Dooley commented, "The sky was
full of it!"
